Kochi: With Dileep’s inclusion into Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) kicking off a controversy, the actor on Thursday said that he has no plans of returning to the film body until he is cleared of the charges.
In a letter to AMMA, Dileep, who is an accused in a case of kidnapping and sexual assault of a popular Malayalam female actor, said that he did not wish to be active in any association until proved innocent.
Stating that he was trapped in the case in which he had no role at all, Dileep said he was thankful to AMMA for their decision to reinstate him.
He has posted the letter on facebook
“I came to know through the media that the General Body meeting of AMMA held on June 24 had decided that the earlier decision of the available executive of AMMA to expel him without issuing a notice to him or hearing his explanation, is not valid now. I express my thanks to my colleagues and the office-bearers of AMMA over this. However, I do not wish to be active in any organization till I prove my innocence before the viewers and people of Kerala.
A day after Dileep was inducted back into the film body, four actresses had resigned from the organisation in protest.
