Over a hundred people, including film personalities and writers have demanded the kerala government not to invite AMMA president and actor Mohanlal as chief guest to the state film award function.
A letter signed by 107 persons was handed over to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Culture Minister AK Balan.
Mohanlal had in the recent time to face strong criticism from the film world, especially Women in Cinema Collective, as well as from others for revoking the suspension of Actor Dileep who is an accused in the actress assault case.
It has been reported that a section of the jury are likely to stay away from the function if Mohanlal was made the chief guest.
Actresses Rima Kallingal and Geetu Mohandas, writers N S Madhavan, Sethu, Sachidanandan, actor Prakash Raj and director Rajeev Ravi are among those who signed the letter.
