Noting that Pakistan had made itself an Islamic state, he was quoted as saying that if the neighbour wanted to stay together with India, they have to develop as a secular state.

Pakistan prime Minister Imran Khan the other day had extended his wish to reopen dialogues with India.

“We [India] are a secular state,” General Rawat said after the Passing Out Parade of the 135th course at the National Defence Academy (NDA).
