Germany has offered a package of 90 milion Euros to rebuiold Kerala from the recent devasttating flood.
The country has offered to priovide the assistance at a reduced interest rate.
The package, offered by Germany also has a technical grant of three million Euros to provide international expertise to the Public Works Department in climate resilient infrastructure planning to reconstruct roads and bridges. This was announced by announced by German Ambassador to India Martin Ney in Thiruvananthapuram.
Germany has also proposed to finance a 117 million Euros to provide Kochi with an integrated water transport system called ‘Water Metro’ within Indo-German Economic Co-operation.
Earlier Ney called on Kerala Governor P Sathasivam and expressed his country’s willingness to provide through the Government of India, as reduced interest loan of 90 million euros as institutional support to the ‘Rebuild Kerala’ Initiative.
