Tripura hartal hits normal life

Life came to a standstill in the 12-hour shutdown in Tripura called by six tribal parties in protest against police firing earlier this week injuring six youths agitating against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

The reports said the shutdown was peaceful except for two minor incidents.

Government as well as private offices, educational institutions, shops and business establishments remained closed.

Transportation was also hit as public transport was off the roads.
