Kollam: In the wake of Travancore Dewaswam Board making a U turn with respect to women entry in Sabarimala, the BJP in the state alleged that the Left government as well as the Board had cheated the believers in the state.
The Board and the government has failed to uphold the belief of the people in the state for which the government would have to pay a heavy price, BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai said.
Noting that the Travancore Dewaswam Board was bound to protect the tradition and belief of temples, he said that the Board has deviated from this by making a U turn in the Supreme Court saying that it was not against entry of women of all ages in Sabarimala. This was against the stand that the Board had taken earlier, he added.
Pillai also alleged the Board was now extending all its support to the CPM and the Left government in destroying temples across the state. This is a challenge to the believers, he said and added that the government should not forget that the cabinet was not only of non believers but also that of believers and this fact is being forgotten.
